Privacy Policy
Arcade 84 is a free browser game. There are no accounts, no ads and no cookies, and nothing you do in the arcade is tied to you as a person. This page says exactly what the site does and does not keep.
Who runs the site
Arcade 84 is a product name of, and is operated by, Elowin Labs LLC ("we", "us"). References to "Arcade 84" mean Elowin Labs LLC doing business as Arcade 84. You can reach us at hello@elowinlabs.com.
What stays in your browser
The arcade keeps a few things in your browser's local storage so it feels the same on your next visit. They never leave your device and we cannot read them:
arcade84:scores:*: your high-score table for each cabinet.arcade84:scheme:*: which control scheme you picked for a game.arcade84:mutedandarcade84:volume:*: your sound settings.arcade84:legend: whether the walking tip has already been shown to you.
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it. Nothing is set as a cookie, so there is no cookie banner and nothing to consent to.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless service, to count visits in aggregate. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, collects no personal data and does not follow you across other sites. Alongside page views the arcade sends a handful of named events: Start (a game began, with the game, view and control scheme), Share (the share button), Pad (a controller was picked up, with the controller's product name as your browser reports it), Tip jar (the change machine was opened) and Tip (the coin slot was followed out). None of these carry an identifier. Plausible's data policy is at plausible.io/data-policy.
Controllers
If you plug in an arcade stick or a gamepad, your browser's Gamepad API tells the page its name and button states so the cabinets can respond. That reading happens in your browser only; apart from the product name in the Pad event above, nothing about it is sent anywhere.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees the standard request information (your IP address, browser type, the page requested) while delivering the site and protecting it from abuse, and handles it under Cloudflare's privacy policy. Cloudflare's short-lived request logs for the site are used only to find errors; we keep no logs of our own.
Links that leave the site
The arcade-stick page links to controllers on Amazon. When those links carry our affiliate tag, the page says so, and Amazon may pay us a small commission on a purchase at no cost to you; Amazon's own privacy policy applies once you are there. If the change machine offers a way to tip, the link goes to a third-party payment page (such as Ko-fi or Stripe) that handles the payment under its own policy; we never see your payment details.
Children
The site is meant for general audiences and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If the site starts storing or sending anything new, this page changes in the same release and the date at the top moves.
